We watched a video about the procedure of making chocolate chip cookies. With help from Mr Z and our community tutor Barbara, we made the yummy cookies.

We had lots of fun filming the lip dub for Paint You a Song today. We dressed as birds and used mini-trampolines, jumping off tables and the splits for our actions. We will post the finished product as soon as it is finished. Thanks to Mrs Hounsell for organising it all. For maths this week, we looked at number patterns. Students made patterns where they added 10 each time using a ladder on the floor. They worked in pairs and their teamwork was very impressive!
They also use 100's charts to look at patterns with Mrs Enright. She helps us with Maths Groups twice/week which we enjoy. Students completed a range of tasks and activities this week, centred around our sounds 'ch' and 'sh'. They worked really hard and are becoming more and more independent. Thanks again to all our classroom helpers-we really appreciate it. Mr Nathan Zahra, or Mr Z as he is known in 1J, will be with 1J for five weeks. He is in his third year of teacher training in Queensland. He has quickly got to know the students and has provided valuable teaching assistance this week. I know the students will enjoy having an extra teacher for the remaining 4 weeks. Mr Z put together this information about himself. Kiran's mum Janine came and spent some time with us on the last day of term. She brought in some yummy cupcakes to share with Year One to celebrate Kiran's birthday.
