IJ celebrated the last day of Term 3 with a "Made in Australia" party and a walk to North Broulee Beach. The children loved playing cricket, running races and building sandcastles. Thank you to all of our parent helpers who come in each week. We appreciate your help! Have a great holiday.
Two groups of boys completed two great projects this week. Hugh and Max finished their papier mache volcano and Finn and Hugh completed a poster about the solar system. Top job boys!
As part of our persuasive writing unit students were put into small groups and had to choose the fruit they thought was the best. Their task was to present their reasons as a poster or a puppet show on PuppetPals using the iPads. Students worked very hard in their groups and showed great cooperation and collaboration. We are looking forward to the presentations on Thursday. One of our friendly Rainbow Lorikeets from outside must have heard about all the fun we have in 1J and came in to check things out. After staying for most of the day, Warren saved the day and helped him out, (and yes, he and I found out they do have sharo beaks!).
Each week 1J participate in a range of activities for spelling groups. This week we were building words with letter blocks, improving our typing speed with an online game called Keyboarding Zoo, working out 8 challenges on the Treasure Hunt App and completing a spelling worksheet all about the 'y' sound. Students have all been doing a great job completing all tasks and helping each other. Some students and their fathers enjoyed a yummy Father's Day breakfast on Thursday morning. Students sang a funny Father's Day Song. We wish all our fathers a relaxing day on Sunday.
